Adopt a Pug (short coat)

Pug (short coat) Dog

Daisy | Available the Dog needs a home

Pug Rescue of New England (PRoNE) is a non-profit 501(c)(3), all volunteer foster home based rescue organization.

Daisy, 8-10, FF

Available
Open to New Applicants

Daisy is a sweet, tiny girl. She was pulled from a big city shelter - a stray, likely dumped because of her mobility issues. Our vet estimates she's 8-10yrs old.

She's a smiling and happy girl - she's opinionated, and loves her people. Runs like crazy on her wheels and gets along great with her foster brothers (pug and human!). She's housetrained, and pees outside. She does poop when she walks - but it's solid and easily picked up and at the same time each day (she's regular!). She likes going for walks on her wheels up to about 1/4 mile! She has come a long way in her time in foster care.

After laser therapy treatment, she's able to stand on her own for about 2 minutes. This is HUGE! We think being up and moving around often has helped her digestive system quite a bit, too. Eats like a pug. Of course! Always hungry and sleeps great.

Daisy's bladder needs to be expressed multiple times each day. This is a commitment for all adults in the adoptive home.  We can easily teach the right owner to express her bladder - it requires patience, but prior medical or veterinary experience is not needed.  Dogs with deteriorating hind legs and rear bring much joy to a home and often remain active for years after onset.  However, we want to let potential adopters know a pug like Daisy requires a significant time commitment and her condition may worsen as she ages.

Daisy has so much love to give and if you are interested in providing a home for her to live out her golden years please apply to adopt or drop us a line of inquiry via our contact us page on www.pugrescueofnewengland.org.  We are happy to share information about Daisy and look forward to finding a forever family for her.
